BIG 3 means upgrading the main 3 wires in car electrical system to make them deliver power more efficiently because the factory wiring setup is only for the stock car with stock equipments. It helps the battery to get more support from the alternator charge as the factory wire is almost 8 gauge wire to do everything in the vehicle when it is running. The battery does not do anything in the vehicle while running its the alternator who does everything. When you install a music setup in the vehicle with amplifiers the alternator gets more strain to push power through that 8 gauge or even 10 gauge wire to the battery. People normally run a humongous 0 gauge wire to the back of the trunk to amplifier without upgrading the alternator wire thinking that they are getting extra power as they ran a 0 gauge wire without upgrading even the ground. This creates a big bottleneck which results in poor performance of the audio.

Why you need big 3?

You might experience the headlights dimmed when the bass hits or when you start your air conditioner of the car or even while honking horn. This is because of the low power delivery of the charge to the battery. In order to make your car charging improve WE HAVE TO DO BIG 3 in the car. If you have a very heavy SPL setup where you need extra batteries to make them perform BIG 3 is mandatory their as well. The BIG 3 does not make charging fast it only makes the power to transfer more fast and smoothly as the alternator will give that much power only which it suppose to give. so the BIG 3 is not a rocket science or harms your vehicle it just makes your car electrical system work more efficiently. If you are using the stock alternator of the vehicle you may experience a very big difference after BIG 3 done in your car. (almost 60 percent improvement can be seen depending upon the gauge size of wire used for big 3)

How is big 3 done?

We have to take a 0 gauge wire or you can take 4 gauge wire or if you don’t have it you can use any wire thicker than factory wire and make 3 wires by crimping there ends with copper lugs so that they can be installed in the car and looks neat. 

1. ALTERNATOR POST TO THE BATTERY POST. ( IT SHOULD BE FUSED USING THE FUSE OF THE AMP OF THE ALTERNATOR)

2. BATTERY TO THE CHASSIS OF THE VEHICLE. (BARE METAL)

3. ENGINE GROUND WIRE OF THE VEHICLE. ( NEAR TO THE ALTERNATOR WILL BE BEST)

NOTE: AFTERMARKET ALTERNATORS BRANDS SUGGEST TO INSTALL A INLINE FUSE IN BETWEEN THE ALTERNATOR WIRE TO THE BATTERY POST. THIS IS MANDATORY IN EVERY CASE. AS WE ARE UPGRADING THE WIRES WHICH IS NOT DONE BY FACTORY IT SHOULD BE PROTECTED BY A FUSE AS ANY HAZARD WILL BLOW THE FUSE AND STOP THE RISK OF GETTING IT TO FIRE.
